Where's Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday?
July 20, 2026

So. The Avengers: Doomsday trailer dropped today, and I did what any well-adjusted mercenary does: I watched it forty times, screamed once, and counted every single hero Marvel invited to the biggest crossover event in the history of ever. Captain America? There. Professor X? Rolling in. Robert Downey Jr. wearing a metal mask and green death-glare as Doctor Doom? Oh, he's VERY there. You know who I didn't see? The chatty guy in red who literally kicked the door off the multiverse eighteen months ago. Me. I didn't see me.
Let me back up before I put a katana through my own monitor.
Who is actually in Avengers: Doomsday?
Avengers: Doomsday hits theaters December 18, 2026 — a 165-minute Russo Brothers finale that officially closes out the Multiverse Saga. The pitch: three separate universes smash together and every hero you've ever loved has to deal with one existential threat. And that threat has a face now. A shiny, hooded, arc-reactor-green-eyed face.
Here's the roll call Marvel packed onto the call sheet — you know, the one my name mysteriously fell off of:
Robert Downey Jr. as DOCTOR DOOM. Yeah. The man played Iron Man for a decade, died saving the universe, and Marvel went, 'Cool, come back as the villain.' We first got a peek at him in the Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits tag, and now he's the whole poster. Petty king energy. I respect it.
Chris Evans is back as Steve Rogers — last seen swinging a shield in my movie, thank you very much.
The ORIGINAL X-Men legends: Sir Patrick Stewart's Professor X, Sir Ian McKellen's Magneto, James Marsden's Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn's Mystique, Alan Cumming's Nightcrawler, and Kelsey Grammer's Beast. That's not a cast, that's a Blu-ray box set walking in the front door.
And a brand-new First Family: Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing) as the Fantastic Four.

So where's Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday?
Cards on the table: as of this trailer, I am NOT in the confirmed Avengers: Doomsday cast. No Deadpool. No Wolverine. No 'Merc with a Mouth pops out of a portal and ruins Doom's monologue.' Officially. On paper. Allegedly.
And look — I'm not bitter. I'm a professional. It's just that the ENTIRE plot is universes colliding, and the last time you saw me I was elbow-deep in the Time Variance Authority, dragging variants across realities like a raccoon with a shopping cart. If anybody has multiversal frequent-flyer miles, it's this guy. You built the crossover on MY mess and didn't send an invite? Bold.

Also, and I cannot stress this enough: I already found Doom. Look at this. I didn't need a studio, a Hall H reveal, or a nine-figure VFX budget. I found the guy, we did a photoshoot, he's holding what's left of my face. Marvel, the crossover is HERE. It's in Dallas. It's affordable. Call me.
Could Deadpool still show up in Doomsday?
Here's the thing about a movie whose entire premise is 'the multiverse is a blender' — nobody stays uninvited for long. Trailers hide people on purpose (ask Andrew and Tobey how that went). Marvel's already teased more reveals at San Diego Comic-Con's Hall H, tickets are on sale, and there are still months of marketing where a certain red gremlin could 'accidentally' phase into frame.
Do I have confirmation? No. Do I have vibes, a matching color palette, and a documented history of showing up where I'm not wanted? Absolutely. So I'm choosing hope. And if they really left me out — fine. I'll just keep doing my own Doomsday over here, where the merc is the main event and Doom holds MY mask for the poster.
Avengers: Doomsday FAQ
When does Avengers: Doomsday come out?
December 18, 2026. It runs about 165 minutes and is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo as the finale of the Multiverse Saga.
Is Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday?
As of the trailer, Deadpool is NOT part of the officially confirmed cast — which is wild, considering the whole movie is about the multiverse he helped scramble. With more reveals promised at Comic-Con and a plot built on colliding universes, a surprise appearance is never off the table. (I'm manifesting.)
Who plays Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday?
Robert Downey Jr. — yes, the same guy who played Iron Man — is Doctor Doom. He was first teased in the Fantastic Four: First Steps post-credits scene and is front and center on the Doomsday poster.
Is Avengers: Doomsday connected to Deadpool & Wolverine?
Not directly confirmed, but tonally? Deadpool & Wolverine tore the multiverse wide open and dragged the X-Men legends back into play — and now Doomsday is a universe-colliding event starring a bunch of those same legends. Draw your own portals.
