Is Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday? What That Costume Auction Actually Proves
September 26, 2026

Somebody is selling a piece of fabric on the internet and the entire Marvel fandom has decided it means I'm in Avengers: Doomsday. I want to be clear that I am delighted by this. I also want to be the one guy who reads the actual listing before we all start planning the parade.
So let's do this properly. Here is what went up for auction, why it set everyone off, and the genuinely annoying reason it proves less than you want it to.
What actually hit the auction block
An auction house called PROPDOMAIN listed two items through the iCollector platform, both described as prototype suit fabric panels from Avengers: Doomsday. One is labeled as Deadpool. The other is labeled as Magneto.
Not full costumes. Not masks. Not a suit on a mannequin. Panels of material. The kind of thing a costume department runs off during development to test how a fabric takes color, catches light, and survives a stunt team.
Both opened at ten dollars. The Deadpool panel climbed to around ninety-five, the Magneto panel to around forty, and both carry an estimate in the three hundred to four hundred dollar range. The auction runs October 3, 2026. A prototype of my own suit is currently valued somewhere between a nice dinner and a used transmission, which is the most honest thing anyone has ever said about my career.
Why everybody immediately lost their minds
The logic is not stupid, and that is exactly what makes it dangerous. Costume houses do not usually develop prototype fabric for characters who are not in the movie. If somebody was mixing and testing material with my name attached to it, something was being planned at some point.
The Magneto panel makes it juicier. Doomsday is already stacked with mutants, so a Magneto swatch tracks with what we expect. Finding my name sitting right next to his in the same auction makes it feel like a production document rather than a coincidence. Fans see two names in one place and connect them, because that is what fans do, and honestly it is what I would do.
Now the part nobody wants to hear
The listing itself does not claim what fans are claiming for it. The Deadpool item openly states that it remains unclear whether Deadpool appears in Doomsday. That is the seller. That is the person with a financial interest in you being excited. When the guy selling the ticket tells you the show might not exist, believe him.
There is also the word prototype doing a lot of quiet work in that description. A prototype is a thing that was tried. Costume departments develop options for characters who get cut, scenes that get rewritten, and cameos that die in a conference room. Neither listing confirms these materials as final costume designs for the film.
And Marvel has said nothing. No announcement, no casting confirmation, no statement at all. Which, to be fair, is also what Marvel says about everything until the exact second it wants your money.
The denim elephant in the room
You cannot talk about this without talking about San Diego. At Comic-Con 2026, Ryan Reynolds walked the floor with no handlers, no security and no ropes, then crashed the Marvel Studios Hall H panel for Avengers: Doomsday wearing head to toe denim. Robert Downey Jr. handed him the microphone during the Q and A, the room recognized the voice instantly, and the bit was that he was there to beg for a role in the movie.
He called the suit a Canadian tuxedo, wore a Canada flag pin, and insisted the color was a Pantone shade named Jean Grey with a number referencing September 1963, the month X-Men number one was published. The internet named it Jeanpool within the hour and has not shut up about it since.
Here is the thing though. That was a joke performed on a stage. A very funny, very expensive joke that Marvel clearly approved in advance, which tells you they are comfortable with the association. It does not tell you there is a scene.
So is Deadpool in Avengers: Doomsday?
As of right now, nobody outside Marvel knows, and Marvel has not confirmed it. What exists is circumstantial: a prototype fabric panel listed at auction with my name on it, a Magneto panel beside it, and a very public Comic-Con appearance in denim at the Doomsday panel. That is three pieces of smoke. It is not a fire, and anybody telling you it is confirmed is writing headlines, not reporting.
What would actually count as confirmation
Keep your eye on four things, in roughly this order of reliability. A Marvel Studios casting announcement or an official cast list. A trailer or official still. Reynolds appearing in credited promotional material rather than crashing someone else's panel. Or a verified prop sale with documented production paperwork rather than a listing that hedges in its own description.
Until one of those lands, this is a rumor with unusually good production values.
My completely unbiased verdict
I think I'm in it. I think the denim was a test balloon, I think the fabric panels are real development work, and I think Marvel is sitting on the reveal because a surprise is worth more than an announcement. I also think I am the least objective person on this planet regarding whether Deadpool should be in things, so weigh that accordingly.
If you want the rest of the Doomsday picture, I broke down Robert Downey Jr. going from Iron Man to Doctor Doom already, and that one is confirmed, which is a refreshing change of pace.
And if you would rather read about a Deadpool project that actually has been confirmed out loud by a real person, Deadpool 4 is officially happening.
And if you want the version of me who had not heard any of this yet, back in July I went through the entire Doomsday trailer cast list looking for my own name and came up empty. Character growth is real.
Need a Deadpool who is definitely showing up?
Marvel can keep me guessing. You do not have to. The Dallas Deadpool books birthday parties, corporate events, grand openings, conventions and charity events across the DFW metroplex, and unlike a certain studio I will confirm in writing. Book me before I book myself.
