Date Change! (And Yes, I'm Blaming Spider-Man for It)

Okay, Forney. Deep breath. We have a DATE SITUATION. Before you grab a pitchfork and come looking for your favorite red-suited menace, hear me out: the dates for the Sport Clips Back-to-School Bash changed — and I have a very reasonable, very mature explanation. It was Spider-Man's fault. Obviously. More on that in a second, but first, the part you actually clicked for.

The new dates — write 'em on your hand

The Back-to-School Bash is now happening Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, 2026. Same place, same masked menace, same maximum effort — I just moved it to the WEEKEND so more of you can show up. You're welcome.

Here's the whole deal, front and center:

New dates: Friday, August 7 & Saturday, August 8, 2026. Location: Forney Sport Clips, 501 N FM 548 #150. The lineup: prizes, giveaways, a coloring contest, and photos with the Merc (that's me). Cost: free-ninety-nine. Bring the kids, bring your cameras, bring me a chimichanga.

This is Spider-Man's fault. Obviously.

So you want the REAL story? Fine. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is swinging into theaters July 31, and the entire plot is — I am not making this up — the whole world FORGETTING Peter Parker exists and the timeline getting rearranged. A movie literally about messing with the calendar comes out, and suddenly MY calendar starts doing backflips? That's not a coincidence, that's a crime scene. Kid reboots one timeline and the disruption ripples out to every community in America, including a perfectly nice Back-to-School Bash in Forney, Texas. Classic Peter.

Do I have proof? No. Do I have vibes? Absolutely. And around here, vibes are admissible. What's actually going down at the Bash

Timeline shenanigans aside, this thing is going to be a blast. We've got prizes to give away, giveaways to give away (that's how giveaways work, I checked), and a coloring contest for the little heroes-in-training. And the main event: you, your family, and photos with the Merc himself. I'll be fully suited, fully in character, and only mildly threatening to Spider-Man in absentia. It's free, it's family-friendly, and it's the most fun you can legally have in a Sport Clips.

Why the move is actually good news

Here's the silver lining to Peter's cosmic meddling: we landed on a Friday AND a Saturday. Weekend energy. No 'sorry, I have work' excuses, no rushing over after school — just two full days to swing by, get your pic, and kick off the school year with maximum effort. Whether you're a first-day-of-school kid, a tired-but-heroic parent, or just somebody who wants a photo with a guy in a very warm suit, both days are yours.

So mark it down: Friday, August 7 and Saturday, August 8, at Forney Sport Clips. I'll be the one in red. Spider-Man will be the one NOT invited.
